  • How can I improve VKernel performance on ESX?
    To improve performance you can make some changes through VMWare Infrastructure Client:

    1. Select all available processors (right click on vm and select Edit Settings, select CPU and select count of it. Note: vm should be shutdown before)
    2. You can select as faster storage as you have (It should be done during deploying).
    3. Increase amount of memory (right click on vm and select Edit Settings, select Memory and select amount of it. Note: vm should be shutdown before).
  • I have 64bit host with ESX Server. Will VKernel work properly?
    Yes, it will. VKernel is based on 32 bit OS but 64 bit platform support 32 bit system as well.

  • What type of storage is preferred for VKernel?
    You can use any type of storage supported by VMWare ESX Server. VKernel is flexible enough to accommodate all types.
