VKernel Capacity Analyzer Now Supports Microsoft Hyper-V
Offers cross platform capacity management, analysis, and optimization for Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere/ESX
ANDOVER, Mass., December 8, 2009 — VKernel Corporation, a provider of powerful, easy-to-use, and affordable virtualization management and optimization software, today announced the Beta release of its Capacity Analyzer now supporting both Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere/ESX. In one unified, cross platform user interface (UI), VKernel Capacity Analyzer shows users where they can place VMs and identifies bottlenecks for both VMware ESX and Hyper-V environments.
“With our customers planning mixed hypervisor environments, it is extremely important to them that we support Hyper-V. Anyone who is planning a heterogeneous environment should demand cross platform management solutions,” said Alex Bakman, founder and CEO of VKernel. “While our Hyper-V plans include other products such as Optimization Pack, Capacity Analyzer was required first because it addresses early implementation issues such as VM placement and performance bottlenecks.”
With a simple unified, cross platform UI, VKernel Capacity Analyzer delivers proactive resource utilization trending and predictive capacity analysis capabilities that enhance Microsoft Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) and VMware vCenter. As the only virtualization management software that predicts resource utilization trends and alerts days in advance of potential issues, Capacity Analyzer enables users to increase VM densities on existing hardware while optimizing performance of the virtual infrastructure.
“Gartner believes that the increasing capabilities of other entrants in the server virtualization market will lead to more heterogeneous virtualization environments in corporations in the future,” said Cameron Haight, research vice president, Gartner, Inc. “At the same time, these mixed hypervisor environments will likely add to increased management complexity requiring users of these platforms to seek tools that can not only support this increased diversity, but that can also provide insight to augment administrative skill sets.”
